My Thanksgiving Deer

Here is my deer I killed right before Thanksgiving. I killed him on my ranch in Turkey Tx. We killed two more bucks comparable to this one. My dad and my nephew shot two real nice deer I'll get some more pics up as soon as I can. So far we've killed three whitetail bucks, four mule deer bucks, two mule deer does, and a couple of whitetail does. We aren't killing any more bucks this season but still need to kill at least five more whitetail does before season closes in mid January to keep our buck/doe ratio right.

This buck was killed the day after thanksgiving.

This deer was killed the day before from the same stand.

I hope your not disapointed. We only shot cull deer in the muly catagory. Just tryin to get our genetics right. We let all the impressive big mature monsters walk. Wish I'd been able to get a picture of a 5 1/2 year old 190 class buck I saw a few times last week. I'll give him two more years before he gets shot. Mule deer don't peak till about 7 1/2 years old. Whitetail peak about 5 1/2 years old.
