Hunting reports

This was a long awaited dream for myself and 3 good friends. The trip was planned for 14 days from the last week of may and first week of june. We stayed and hunted with Johnny and Mariana Schickerling of Agarob hunting safaris. There property is located in the Khomas region 1 hour west of Winhoek. All of the animals on Johnnys property are free range. We hunted numerous different ways from driving in the land cruisers, spot and stalk, sitting over watering holes and my very favorite horseback!

The entire experience of this hunting trip exceeded all my expectations. From the vast knowledge of the terrain and animals we hunted, The excellent rifles of Johnnys we used, amazing meals cooked by Mariana, the fine sure footed horses we hunted off of to them just making us feel like apart of the family from the moment we arrived. It truly was a trip of a lifetime with some great friendships made and I can not wait until the day I return! I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking for me

Thanks for the report. Nice pics!

Lots like great hunt and lots of fun. Question, and be honest, what is monkey gland sauce? Did you try it? How did it taste? (and don't answer "Kind of like baboon")

Thanks for sharing! Some real nice trophies, congrats!

Every meal we ate was very good. We tried all the animals we took except baboon. Monkey gland sauce was just the name,if I remember correctly it was kinda like a red tomato sauce with small onions in it that resembled the way monkey glands look like

Nice pics and some good trophies. Tell us about the stalks and how the dog helped with the warthog. Bruce

Looks like a great trip- definitely some mountainous country you hunted! The horseback hunting sounds like blast.

Congrats on your trophies!

Very nice animals and especially that 2nd warthog. If you make it back to Africa a few more times, I think you'll appreciate that warthog more and more. And hunting off horseback, that would be a lot of fun too. Looks like a great trip!

Horse back hunting would be fun.

Glad you enjoyed your time in Namibia.

Thanks for sharing your hunt.

Congrats, you look happy in those pics, and got some nice trophies.

I also see that you enjoyed Jägermeister !

Fantastic pics and awesome trophies! I now remember this hunt from your report on MOD!

Congrats, on a wonderful safari.

Congrats on a great Safari. For some reason I can't see the pictures. I would love to try a horseback Safari.

Your pictures say it all. Great hunt sir!

looks like a great hunt. thx for sharing.

we were also able to go to erinidi game reserve on our recent safari. very nice place and accommodations. food in the restaurant was very good also. we watched game while eating in the restaurant and from the room balconies. the afternoon and morning tours in land cruisers were exceptional. we watched/photographed a pride of lions from about ~30 yards, and the same with elephants. we also saw a pangolin, which according to the locals was a rare occurrence.

Ah !!
Another happy hunter in Namibia .
Well done fish hunter !

Not sure about the Monkey Gland Sauce. I have spoken to Johnny and Mariana at the Sportsman Show in Springfield, MA several times and enjoyed their company there.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
