My trip to Namibia is finally here. Will be jumping on a plane at JFK, J-burg and over to Windhoek on October 6th. Hunting plains game for 10 days with Kowas safaris. This is my second time hunting with them and I can't wait based on the fantastic time I had with them on my previous hunt. Will send a report after I get back. Good hunting

Very jealous, looking forward to the report.
I have the following plains game on my wish list: black wildebeest, blesbok, Impala, mtn zebra, warthog, springbok, red hartebeest, and gemsbok. The rifle thing is a long story but I decided to use one of theirs and leave mine at home. I am flying Jet Blue from Dulles to JFK. I found out after booking my flight that JB will only check my rifle to JFK so I have to basically go through the whole TSA thing again at JFK. I learned this out from a fellow AH member who said it was a PITA. We'll see how that goes. In hindsight I should have gone through a travel agent who specializes in dealing with hunters as I did on my last trip.

I totally agree with your thoughts on using a travel agent. I would not consider a flight to and from Africa without one. They know what's in the "small print" re. handling of firearms and steer their clients around the pitfalls.
Definitely a lesson learned. You are definitely correct on the small print.
