Guys, I'm wanting to go to Canada next year to hunt moose & caribou. Since I'll be driving to the hunt I've decided to that either British Columbia or Manitoba will be my best choices.

I'm looking for a good value for my money where I have a good chance to take quality animals of both species. What outfitters do you recommend I look at? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Randy

Since you are planning on driving, you should plan on doing ALOT of driving! Caribou are located in the northern extremes of Canada and even once you get there chances are you will need to take a charter flight in to a remote camp. Fuel is crazy expensive up there and it would likely be cheaper for you to fly up, plus that expands your options alot and any drive in areas are hunted hard by residents so trophies tend to average smaller and are harder earned. My recommendation for both animals is Ram Head Outfitters in the McKenzie mountains of the NWT, both species are virtually a lock. Their moose average 60" and 30% of their Caribou make B&C.

I have personally guided for Stan and also was fortunate enough to kill the #2 SCI Archery Mountain Caribou with him.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Have any of you heard anything about Hans-Albert Jacobs with Blackwater River Outfitters over by the Itaca Ulgatcha Mountains in B.C.?

I know lots about the area where he lives. Not about where his hunting area is or him.

I realize you're headed to BC or Manitoba, but I really like the Yukon for truly big moose and good caribou as well. But I'm a big moose nut so....Best of luck!

Much depends on how deep your pockets are. Northern Manitoba for moose and caribou and central BC are not too bad price wise. Once you look at the NWT and the Yukon it is going to be a lot more. Great hunting, don't get me wrong, but not for most pocket books.

Big difference in the hunts as well. Northern Manitoba is going to be walking and boat. The Itcha/Ilgachuz is going to be a horseback hunt and mountain caribou versus Canadian central barren ground caribou. Very different hunts. Make sure you know what you are signing up for.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John buzzardhilllabs@hotmail.com

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
