Thinking about getting one for my 375 Ruger Guide Gun for my Woodleigh 350gr. PP load. What is your opinion on this? Right now I have a Leupold vX3 2.5-8x36mm with Alaskan Arms quick detach rings sight at 200yds. with my Nosler 300gr. Accubond load for elk. Thinking about this sight for the 350gr. load for thick skinned game and sight rifle at 100yd. zero with this sight. This NECG Ruger peep sight is only $90.00 and would be cheaper then another scope and detach rings. I have a Marlin 1894C 357mag carbine with the Ashley Ghost ring sight and is very accurate and fast to get on target. Was wondering if this NECG Ruger peep sight would be the same concept?

I have one on a Ruger 77 450 Marlin. Gets on target quick and is a nice setup.

Thanks AZDAVE! Thought it would work out with my Woodleigh 350gr. PP load.

Not familiar with the sight your asking about! But it would seem to me that the VX-3 would be all you need!

These are fantastic ghost rings, even with "fading eyesight ". For the application you are suggesting I would say they would be perfect for you.

My experience with them was more, not so hunting related, but basically same scenario, close quarters, quick shots.

Big fan of them, and we'll built too.

Thanks! By what they say on instruction manual after installing it and adjusting after sight in you can remove sight and re-install it without POA shifting? Have you experience this? This way I could sight in with the Woodleigh 350gr. PP load for close quarter shots and switch to the scope with the 300gr. Nosler Accubond loadfor longer shots.

700xcr. I have used them on ruger #1's, model 77's and on a CZ 550FS. It is the ideal quick on and off kinda solution. The are well made, rugged and don't take of much room in a jacket pocket.

Thanks AZDAVE!

Make sure you get the ghost ring version, not the peep version. I have a Recknagel/NECG Ruger peep and find it blocks too much of the target. they have ghost ring version that is the same design as the one they make for the CZ rifles. Much better sight picture. I use one of their CZ ghost ring sights on a Brno 21H and love it.

I have ordered the Talley sight for the Talley bases with the removable aperture so it is the best of both. Have the Rigby styled bolt aperture and like it the best but have various rifles with a bridge mounted aperture and like them just fine. The aperture sight makes a good 200 yd rifle

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
