Hey,

My name is Caleb. As a kid, I read the Peter Capstick books on Africa and always wanted to go. I was finally able to make the trip to SA last year, and had an awesome time. I am going back again in April with a group of friends, and found this forum while looking for a rifle. I am a relatively experienced long range shooter, but am enjoying getting into the world of short range big bore rifles. On a side note, I am in the market for another 375 H&H as I made the mistake of selling mine to a friend for his upcoming hunt.

Welcome Caleb. That is awesome you are getting to go back to Africa again already. The safari bug has definitely bitten! I read Peter Capstick, thanks to my husbands persistence, and loved death in the long grass. I never expected it to be a book that I couldn’t put down. Although it definitely was not the perfect book to read BEFORE going to the wilds of Tanzania for the first time. I kept thinking of all the gruesome tales as I listened to lions outside our tent. . Anyway welcome to AH and have a great time on your next safari.
