Greetings! Just found the forum and signed up. Back in Minnesota, returned from a 12 day trip to Namibia. This was my first Safari. What an incredible experience, harvested 2 warthog, gemsbok and a burchells zebra. Felt like royalty from the minute we landed in Windhoek. Started saving my pennies already. Cant wait to get back.

Welcome Stuart70.

Now, you have to share the details and the pictures when you have a moment.
Congratulations.

Stuart

Welcome to AH!

Hey guys I haven't been to Africa yet but I hope to go some day. That's kind of ironic because both my neighbors are from there. They are some of the nicest guys you could meet. I've been looking at building a 404 Jeffery or a 458 win mag on a 98 Mauser action that I have.

Hey Proleo,
Yes I'm doing my homework on the 404. I'm an analytical type of guy. I like to study almost every firearm and cartridge combination to see what works best. Not discounting early 1874 to the present and have a real affection for double rifle's. My research has led me to the 404 Jeffery due to it's ballistics, recoil level, cost, and that it will fit in the Mauser 98 action I have. This will be a long drawn out build due to funds but I feel it will be worth it. What resources do you have on the cartridge. I'll pass what I have when I hear from you again. What action are you going to use and are you customizing or purchasing off the shelf.

Talk to you later

Hey, thanks for the welcome. My main purpose is to gain information on the 404 Jeffery cartridge and trips to hunt buffulo.

Again thanks for the greeting
