New Von Gruff Heavy Hunter Knife

I gave this to myself for Christmas AND a matching one to my son, Craig.

Once again I am very, very pleased with the quality of the workmanship.
The knife is just a great one - feel and balance.

Also feels "sturdy".

Will take this to Tasmania in early April for a fallow deer hunt.
Thanks Garry!

Is this what you were thinking of with the Kris
The kris blade is called a wilah or bilah. Kris blades are usually narrow with a wide, asymmetrical base. The kris is famous for its wavy blade; however, the older types of kris dated from the Majapahit era have straight blades, as do more than half of all kris prior to the modern era.

Now this one really appeals to me

Dr Ray,
Perhaps get matching steak knives for you and yours.

Good stuff… let the imagination run free! Particularly in a time of lock downs, mandates, closures, loss of basic God given freedoms and what amounts to house arrest for many.

Any number of references available including of course the net but I can recommend a few reference books to nurture the curious including: Glossary of Arms and Armor…. by George Stone.
Traditional Weapons of the Indonesian Archipelago by Albert Van Zonneveld. Islamic Weapons by Anthony Tirri.

How many people will know what that is, without having to Google it?
Not sure it matters how many others know what it is as long as the customer does and can talk through its properties and histories when having a yarn in the man cave. The Kopis was the traditional Greek daily use in shorter lengths and military use with a little more length.
I am sure there are many things in many man caves that a lot of people would have to google to find out all about them.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
