Look what we found, a 1950 Series 0 Landy to accompany Carruthers, our 1954 work horse. Carruthers has now chalked up about 4000km over three safaris and taken us through really tough terrain. The new one has been christened The Harry Selby and will be going on the sable hunt just as soon as the roads are open again.

Beautiful, congrats. I love those Land Rovers, wish I could find one here in the States. LOL.

Awesome! Congrats on the new addition!

Looks great!
I have a 1965 series IIa 109 station wagon in marine blue that is my daily driver in NC. Love the rover!

Nice looking classics!

Do you have a friend or neighbor with a Cruiser, just for backup?

I learned to "drive" in a series one Landrover in 59. Here they were either khaki or grey in our area, ours was khaki. On the farm the owner would put it in low gear and get out and climb on the trailor behind it while I "drove" it round the rough country to feed the sheep. I was 7 at the time.

Thank God I was cured from Land Rovers in 1989 to 1992.....I have enough other crap in my yard and luckily discovered Land Cruisers.....

But some like them, these they look good for the age....

Nice, congrats !

Congrats on a great find! I hope I look as good after almost 70 years and that kind of mileage!

With the title of the thread being "New Wheels", I thought I was being replaced.:D

Great looking vintage Land Rovers you have there. Congratulations!

Photos of a couple of our Land Rovers, or friends of ours Land Rovers. The bottom two Land Rovers may be about the same year and model as yours.

Hi Wheels, great nostalgic photos, thank you. There is a mixture of series 1 and series 2 here, the series 2 have the little step out on the back at the waistline. We fully intended to put my buff on the back of our series 1, but then you see the size of the thing close up, no way!

I wish those were available here as drivers. IF you can find them, they're in realm of classic collectors!

I really envy you Kevin!

My 'pet' 4X4 is a Willys. I do have an f350 4X4, a HZJ73 diesel Landcruiser, and a 100 series Land Cruiser, which is my daily driver. I like the old LRs, especially the Series vehicles, but have have limited wrenching time.

Here's the Willys...

It looks great NM, I bet you have lots of fun in it. There are quite a few in Harare, I saw this one a while back.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
