New Zealand Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing
The world's best fishing is right here in New Zealand.
Fly Fishing in New Zealand is known by anglers as the world`s best wild rainbow and brown trout fisheries, as well as chinook salmon.
The South Island of New Zealand is home to some of the purist glacier fed streams and lakes of gin-clear water.
These waters call to anglers from around the globe in search of true trophy fish. The average size of our trout is 3-5 pounds, with big trophies regularly going in excess of 10 pounds!
Options for fishing licences are 24hr or full season which can be purchased online, through your guide, or at a local hunting and fishing store. The central South Island fishing season opens on 1st October through to 30 April, with some other lakes and streams opening on the first Saturday of November.
In New Zealand there are 250 waters that remain open all year. The Mackenzie district in the central South Island holds a gem to anglers in the know; hydro canals. There are very big trout and salmon in the canals, some of which weigh over forty pounds! There are also very good numbers of large rainbow trout weighing between 15 and 20+ pounds with plenty of fish weighing around the 30-pound mark. You really have a chance to catch that world record trophy fish of a lifetime.
While we provide accommodations for fishing and hunting clients at All Seasons Lodge, we utilize the services of the best professional fishing guides in the South Island who are members of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association. This can be a great opportunity for hunters to combine a cast and blast vacation or just experience a world class angling adventure.
