Norma Oryx .30-06, 180 Gr

Good day all,

I've been using Norma Oryx for Roe deer, Fallow Deer and Moose so I know they work.

Has anyone experience with Norma Oryx 180 Gr in .30-06 for antelopes in South Africa? Also any information about availability from the local gunshops would be appreciated.

I'm a meat hunter, with the odd trophy, normal shooting distances between 50-200m.

Any information would be appreciated.

I don't have experience with this particular ammo, but a 30.06 with 180 grain will be more than enough for antelope species in Africa. I have used a .300 with 180 grain and put everything down no problem. I sure many folks here can let you know about the availability of this ammo in Africa

I bought some from Midway but haven't used yet. I have no reason to think it will not perform. All indications are that it's a good bullet.

I have used Norma Oryx in 22-250,243,6.5x55 and 308. IMHO they are a well made bullet which holds together and mushrooms well on impact while also giving minimal meat damage.

Interesting to hear that the bullet works even with such a fast caliber as 22-250.
Do you use factory loads or are you handloading?
