The windage adjustment on my 2,5X Noske scope is frozen, resisting all efforts to turn it. Under the assumption that the cause is hardened grease, I have considered applying a hair drier to it in an effort to melt the grease without damaging the scope mechanism. If I knew of a scope mechanic willing to take on such an antique, I would consider sending it off to him, but several I have corresponded with are unwilling to undertake the job. I am particularly fond of Noskes because of the wonderful optics and the long eye relief, an advantage for use with a rifle with noticable recoil.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Try vintage gun scopes out of Montana. They specialize in old Weavers and Lyman Alaskans, but they would be the only ones I can think of.

Sorry, the scope man I used for several years has passed away so I'm in the same boat as you for having someone maintain the old Zeiss & Unertls.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
