Nosler Accubond 6.5mm .264" 140gr Bullets

as the title says im looking to buy some Nosler Accubond 6.5mm .264" 140gr bullets. i would like to use them for the upcoming deer season but i cant find them any where. seems like this caliber is extremely popular these days and Nosler cant keep up with the demand.

i dont need a whole box (but i would take it), just maybe 10 or 15 bullets to get me threw the hunting season.

I feel your pain. I've been looking for several flavors of Accubond's for months and have been coming up empty as well. Finally lucked into 5 boxes of .30 cal 190 gr Long Range Accubonds. Still looking for some .375 260 gr Accubonds.
I have some 6.5mm Lapua 139 gr Scenar's if that would help you at all. Be happy to drop you a couple dozen in the mail for nothin'.
By the way, I talked to Nosler the other day. They told me they had just completed a run of the 190 gr Long Range Accubond and were switching over to the 210 gr. Said it would be 6 months before they ran the 190's again.
Sooooo... We might be in for a long wait on some of these Accubonds
If you come up empty let me know and I will ask around as I have a number of friends who also shoot 6.5's. Might find someone who is willing to part with a handful of them.

thanks for the offer, but ill have to pass on the Scenar's. i use Nosler ballistic tips as target bullets and they work great. plus it allows me to perfect my accubond load since the two bullets are identical. however, i would not trust the ballistic tips on animals. ive heard way too many stories of them failing on a regular basis, mostly blowing up on impact without making it to the vitals.

This bullet has been unavailable since Nosler put out their own proprietary 6.5 cartridge. It took American hunters 100 years or so to fully appreciate the ballistic qualities of .264 diameter bullets, but now they are the rage. I see some of the Barnes bullets in this diameter on the local sports shop shelves........including the new 127 grain LRX, but have not tried them in my 6.5's. Might work for you though......................FWB

Not sure if you are up to trying a different bullet or not, but the Woodleigh's are hard to beat. Check this out:

I've had great success with the 160 gr on pigs and have yet to try the 140 gr, but am pretty sure that it will be more than able to accept the task that you give it. Good luck and stay safe.

i picked up a box of Woodleigh bullets to try a little bit ago (I haven't had a chance try them yet) but id prefer the higher BC of the Nosler's.

What distances are you hunting at that you need such a high BC for. Most of the time people that shoot regularly at ranges of 1000 yards are the ones that should be really worrying about high BC and wind bucking ability. Try the Woodleigh's, you may just very well be surprised. Good luck and stay safe.

ive got nothing against the Woodleigh bullets and if my rifle ends up shooting them better then the accubonds do then ill go with them.

the noslers accubonds are just more versatile then the woodleighs. the noslers open faster at lower velocities which makes them more suited to smaller game like the little black tail deer we have in western WA. the noslers more modern design (higher BC) makes them more suited for long shots that are often required in central WA. there is also the benefit of being able to use the nosler ballistic tip to tinker with and perfect a load on the cheap and then simply mirror the load with the more expensive accubond.

I think you are probably right in that 6.5s are hot calibers now. One of the rifles I shoot is a M70 .264 WinMag and have to always buy the ammo on line, I don't reload. My son shoots a 6.5 Grendel and a 6.5 Creedmore, and he does reload. All three of these rifles can use the same bullet, though there are many brands available for reloaders. The shops in the Florida panhandle where I live never have .264 in stock. I initially shot HSM ammo with 140 gr Berger HPBT bullets, but quickly changed to Remington Core Lokt with 140 gr. PSP. The Remington rounds hold a much tighter 100 yard group that the HSM.
