So after little more than 11 months since the fact, my nyala bull has finally made it to our place in New Zealand. Since childhood I had dreamed of chasing one of these majestic creatures and when eventually I knelt down beside him, running the long mane hairs through my fingers, only then did the idea of a life-size mount come to being. The exact details of the hunt may become hazy over time, but the fact that he was hunted by bow and on foot and in the company of a great friend will not, especially now that he stands proudly in our home. Mark Walker at Big Game Artistry (NZ) has done an extraordinary job despite the well below average raw prep he had to contend with. Thought you guys may like to see.......

Nice looking mount! Congrats on a great trophy

That is a great nyala and the mount is awesome. Very life like natural look and not overpainted at all. The pose is nice and natural also.

Very good looking nyala!

Beautiful trophy and work done by your taxidermist. Enjoy reliving the hunt.

Beautiful mount, I love it!

I only did a half mount on my Nyala and seeing this one makes me wish I had done a full mount!

Thanks for that, Mark's work is pretty amazing. In all honesty I really agonised over the life-size/shoulder/wall pedestal decision but to my mind, if there was ever an animal that could justify a full mount purely based on looks, it would probably be an nyala. This combined with how the hunt unfolded made the decision a no-brainer in the end.
Maybe you could collect the other half on your next trip over.......? :E Big Grin:

It was a good choice Jack.

Yeah Jack, great choice for a full mount on this beautiful specimen!

Wow amazing work! Congrats!!!!

What a great trophy and an outstanding mount! Congratulations!

I'd hoped for nyala on my safari, but didn't have a chance. Now a nyala is on the list for our next trip!

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
