Wintershoek Safaris is bursting with excitement in sharing some great news with all our clients, friends, visitors and soon-to-be visitors!
We are boasting a collection of exclusive lodges that offer breathtaking scenery and an abundance of wildlife and hunting opportunities. And now it has added a new jewel to the Wintershoek crown!
Wintershoek has recently acquired a stunning new 12 000 ha (30 000 acre) hunting area, only a 30-minute drive from Kimberley. Nestled in the midst of pristine South African savanna bushveld, speckled with camel-thorn and other trees, the setting is one of absolute beauty and seclusion. What was once an unknown, plain stretch of land in the Northern Cape valleys, is now an emerging piece of heaven on earth that simply has to be experienced.
One of the many highlights of this remote part is that close to 600 buffalo – with top genetics and trophy qualities – are roaming the area, making it a one-of-a-kind retreat in South Africa! In addition, there are prolific numbers of trophy-quality plains-game species such as roan antelope, sable antelope, gemsbuck, eland, tsessebe, red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, lechwe, giraffe, springbuck and impala, to name but a few. Deriving its name from the Swahili word Nyara, which means "trophy", this area will not disappoint. With our luxury lodges and variety of game, we will cater for the hunter's every need.
The enchanting and intimate five-star Nyara Lodge will ensure that your stay is one of absolute luxury and comfort – something that was thought through carefully to accommodate visitors who prioritise exclusivity and quality.
Nyara Lodge is in a class of its own, featuring a design that truly complements the environment, with mesmerising views of the great outdoors.
Just like the great view offers timeless joy, so the blend of what this area brings you – silence, top trophy quality, pristine bushveld and African sunsets – has infinite appeal.
Nyara Lodge with its remarkable surrounds will be available to our clients from April 2019. We are looking forward to welcoming you there soon!
