Pole Mountain Outdoors Bowcase - Must Have or Over The Top?

the most durable bowcase on earth... quite a statement, whta polemountainoutdoors.com is saying about their BII double bow hardcase.

I will recieve one of those cases saturday next week, and i will take my complete equipmentwith me to SA during my hunt starting at the 12th of July.

will keep you informed afterwards with pics and the usual +/-story.

any experience gained with this case already, is very welcome...

Is the latch plastic? I hope not. I dont see how you lock it, but that might be the angle.

Bow Case

I used a hard case...once. It was a major pain in the butt. Now i just put my bow in my duffel bag. Less likely to be "noticed" as a bow. Just my .02. That does look like a nice case. Just watch the porters at the airport and others....they might think it's a gun.

@ thunder head, the latch should be metal, as far as i know, will let you know after i had a closer look at the case.
@ tom bow in duffelbag is nice, but when going by plane? i do hope the case is as good as i've been told. i will put a big sticker on it: "natural born bowhunter" that might help a bit

Yes, bow in duffel by plane. I think you will find that the hard case creates a headache in Joberg. Porters and Police will think it's a gun. Nothing major, but enough that i only put mine in my duffel wrapped nicely now. The sticker might only make it worse. If i was going to do anything, i would put golf logo stickers on it.

just wanted to tell, that i do believe, pole mountain is shipping free of charge within the us and canada, but i am not sure about this...
in europe the case can be ordered from Bignami S.p.A. (they deliver within days.)

Hi @ll,

nico and me used the polemountain for our South Africa trip.

Tha latch is made of a veeeery durable plastic (maybe it has a metal inlet? Don't know...), might be ABS...at any rate, I have fullest trust in that thing.

We put both our bows into it, along with some gear, and arrows etc. in our "not so strong" plano bowcase.

Both cases plus contents survived without any damage.

But, I must say, we gave the bows (purposefully) into the firearms department, that did not cost anything (apart from a small tip we gave once), but we were sure that everything would be handled with care.
we always got our stuff back very fast, only had to open the cases once or twice. No problem at all.

Back to topic:
The polemountain is so rugged, that we both could sit on it while waiting for transport etc

The wheels are stable as well, and quiet.
And the empty case is lighter than a SKB case or similar ones.

For travel in the US it might have been a good idea to have built it with a TSA lock, but I do not know wether the standard 3-digit-lock is a problem there.

All in all, the purchase was a good choice.
