The hurdle is the seats in this country. Ontario and Quebec basically control who wins. In Ontario, most of the seats are in Toronto. Torontonians live in fear of being perceived as too "American." That term is the Canadian bogeyman. So if Pierre can get Canadians away from this irrational fear, he will be able to tap into the frustration many feel.
I think Quebec will like him more as he endorses their strong Provincial control and is bilingual .
He is adopted, his dad is gay, he married an immigrant and he is bilingual. He is tough for the left to target.
