its an auction, it might end up being a good price but probably not considering how many days are left on it.

I'll watch it. Just curious to see what it goes for. I got a new Ruger no.1 in 450/400 for under $800

When I bought my 450/400 No. 1, there was a scoped 458 Win No. 1 right beside it for $1200. It must have weighed about 12 pounds. I considered it briefly, but the 50% higher price and argued shortfalls of the 458W, as well as historical attractiveness of 450/400 led me to the latter. It's enough gun for me! I actually shoot it, though, something I might not have done with the 458W after the first few. Retinal rips make me cautious.

As I recall [i think] there were some issues with the early 77s. Bolt handle could hit trigger finger for one. As this is a tang safety it is an early 77.
Any other info on early 77s?

Now I understand the price. Its a push feed. I thought all rugers were control feed.

I really like my 450/400. No feeding issues with it. I actually think it my be safer to use than a lot of bolt actions I have read about or the so so accuracy of a double.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?
