I am thinking about having JES rebore a 30-06 to 9.3x62. They will scratch out the 30-06 in some manner (not sure if they essentially erase it or draw a single line through it still being able to see the original) and stamp the new chambering.

Is there a potential issue upon entering SA or Namibia? Let's say the old cartridge mark is still visible but a line through it

Thanks

I can't answer that specific question but can make a recommendation. I have a 450 Marlin built on a Ruger 77 short action and the barrel came from a #1 45/70 take off. The gunsmith put the barrel in the mill and ran a small endmill over the previous 45/70 marking and then stamped the 450 marlin in the same space.
You could request JES to do something similar.

Hello there. I’ve been wanting to introduce myself personally & chat with you about hunting Nilgai. Give me a call sometime…

Best,

+1 Great to deal with. I purchased custom rifle. No issues.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
