I am beyond tired of seeing "universal reloading tray" only to confirm they will not hold .416Rigby, .470NE, ect.....

Example of not so universal tray

So the question being, what brand or where do you get reloading traying that fit DG calibers?

I made my own-took a piece of 1x6 pine and drilled holes to the desired diameter of the brass. Would use heavier wood next time but it worked just fine-

While I don't load for a DG caliber I do a lot of reloading and haven't used a reloading tray in over 30 years. I prefer loading in steps and use empty buckets or something that will hold the number of brass that I am working with.

First step is decapping and sizing, throw that case into a bucket.

Then once I have done all the brass I'll then clean it, if just wiping it down I'll put the cleaned brass into another bucket

The same with priming.

Then finally load the cartridge I'll do each one separately loading one case at a time with powder then bullet.

I think this will work for you.

If you are inclined to make your own, I’d suggest a 5/8” endmill in either a plastic or nylon plate. Or you could make them out of 3-4 plastic cutting boards screwed together.
Just a thought if you can’t find one of the proper size.
Take a look at this one. Should fit the Rigby.

I hear what your saying JimP.... but that gets REALLY slow when you have to weigh out 2grn of Dacron per round.

Firebird - Likewise I agree with what you said, actually I gave some .416 & .470 cases to a local man that makes custom cutting boards and asked him to make me some trays and that was 3 months ago and haven't heard a word from him and I'm not really looking to make another project out of buying the proper bits & lumber.

So anyone else know where I can find some large caliber reloading trays?

I have blocks, in 404 Jeffery, from this company and have been very happy with them. Good product and he ships quickly. I believe he will do them on a custom basis if he does not stock the size you need.

I appreciate the effort PHIL... but they don't work with rimmed cases such as the .470ne

I was out of the house watching the Alabama/ND game earlier and thus away from the garage. Frankford Arsenal tray number 9 will take the 470NE's. Those are 470's in the tray and they are sitting flat.

Made my own using a 2x6 and a forstner bit. Art Sr working up a 470 NE load for me is using it in the picture above.

I understand the issue. When I looked couldn't find the right ones or they were out of stock or shipping was more than value. So, I just made my own. Two sizes to fit most any larger case. Straight, flat 3/4" pine board, drill bits or auger bits (sharp Forstner would be ideal), 1/4 ply or oakum backing. The two I made have holes .640" and .720". Drill through the 3/4" material, being careful to minimize chip outs. Screw 1/4" material to bottom. Place felt pads on corners.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
