I am selling a Remington 30S Express action and all the lower parts necessary. This action is in beautiful condition and has been modified to cock on open, bolt face opened to magnum bolt face, drilled and tapped for one piece base, and a custom straightened bolt handle. I bought this to potentially build a 404, but have gotten myself into 3 builds at once. As mentioned this action has all lower parts and ready to build. It is in beautiful condition with no visible blemishes. $800 shipped.

@Triathlete3
Being a M17 Enfield action originally I would make up into a beautiful big caliber rifle up to 500.
Remington used left over M17 parts to make the model 30 and 30S. They trimmed down and lightened the action and straightened the dog leg bolt handle. It's the great granddaddy of the 700.
Big strong actions that would cost a fortune to make now.

Just curious as the maximum COAL for that action?

I keep going back and forth on whether I keep this action to build a big 500 of some sort. The 30s is such a beautiful and clean action.

Keep it until you decide what to make it into. I have a M17 made into a 30s action but kept the dog leg bolt because I like different. Mine is in 35 Whelen AI BUT I'm temped to run a 358 Norma mag reamer into it.

Great action, I bought a 30s complete with Lyman peep sight @ a auction For $75
a guy at the auction bought the peep site for $100 then I took it to the gun shop to rebarrel and found out how much I lost in value lacking the Lyman, finally just sold it
because 8mm mag ammo was impossible to find, should have gone 35whelen or 375

If I'm correct, the 30S does NOT have guppy belly mag box? Is anyone making factory stock for 30S? I don't see them on Boyd's site. Only P17 which is presumably 6-shot capacity guppy belly mag. Not interested in the extra round = extra ugly. Anyway I have never needed five or six rounds to finish the job. Hmmm ... okay ... just once.

The pepper laminate stock on my Whelen AI is a Boyd's stock for the M17. My gunsmith took the guppy belly out, straightened the bottom metal and re inletted the stock to suit. He did a great job

Bob, you must work out! That gun has gotta weigh well over ten pounds.
@Ontario Hunter
9# field ready with sling, scope and 5 rounds.
The barrel is magnum profile but remember it has a 35 cal hole in it not a 270 hole so it's lighter than it looks.

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
