Renting Swarovski optics- US customers only

I ran across this service and had never heard about it. You can rent out Swarosvski binos and spotting scopes. An associate of mine did it for a Coues hunt when he needed a good spotting scope and didn't want to drop the 3k plus for one. For one week, you can rent the 10x42 Swarosvski binos and shipping both ways for around $150. Spotting scopes are slightly higher. The company offers a lower rate for over two weeks but I don't know what that rate is. Just thought this might be useful info for someone and wanted to pass it along. You can google it

Funny you say that. We went to Yellowstone National Park a couple years back and spent a couple evenings spotting grizzly bear and wolves. The park or some company rents out Swarovski spotting scopes for probably a similar amount as you stated. I bought a cheap BSA spotting scope before we vacationed knowing it would be worthless in its upper range but superior at 20-30x compared to my 8 or 10x binoculars.

People rented the Swarovski as you said and no one knew how to work the thing - including myself as I attempted to help. I ended up sharing my BSA and letting people take turns looking through it.

I fear the same thing may happen in a hunting situation with a rental that you aren't familiar with. I think a lesser $200-300 scope you own and know how to operate may be a better choice than a $1000 scope you have never used.

I actually used them for my sheep hunt. They we're awesome to work with and told them I was on a hunt and might be a day or two late depending on weather and when I could get out. They also shipped early so I didn't have to worry about it. Was more than pleased and definitely will use again. Saved me like 2k.
