WINDHOEK, July 26 (Reuters) – Rhino and elephant poaching has declined significantly this year in Namibia, home to the only free-roaming black rhinos left in the world, government data showed on Monday.

Nine rhinos have been illegally killed by hunters so far in 2021, the lowest number in eight years for the period, according to the figures from the ministry of environment and tourism. Four elephants have been killed this way, a five-year low.

The southern African nation is home to the second-largest white rhino population in the world after South Africa and also accounts for a third of the world’s remaining black rhinos.

This statement is inaccurate, poachers are not hunters. I know this is not your article, and as a hunter I dislike to be included with those low scums. My 2 cents.

I just sent Reuters a message saying the the rhinos were shot by poachers, not poached by hunters. Could also say poached by poachers.

Indeed, it is important to keep clear the distinction between illegal poaching and sustainable hunting

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
