Hello. I’m new to AF and I do not have experience on internet “boards”. If I’m posting in the wrong location, please redirect me. I’m 57, I’ve hunted in many countries, and competed in many disciplines.

I have acquired four Ruger No. 1 rifles. The original owner died. I’m very familiar with most firearms, but I have little experience with these Ruger No. 1 big bore rifles. I need some expertise. I’ll share some info about the rifles so you can help me understand how desirable they are and what a fair price would be in the US. I plan to sell them. All are Like New or Unfired. No factory boxes or papers. I think all are part of the Craig Boddington production.

1) 450 N.E. 3 1/4”, SN CB5-001xx
2) 450/400 N.E. 3”, SN CB2-002xx
3) 375 Ruger, SN CB1-000xx
4) 450/400 N.E. 3”, SN CB2-000xx

Rifles 3) & 4) have the exact same last two digits in their serial numbers. Figure in the wood is good to excellent depending on the rifle. All are attractive.

What is each one worth?
Thank you in advance.

I could be wrong and if I am some of the more knowledgeable members will correct me but you could possibly be in a position where the collection is worth more than the sum of its parts although it is a shame you didn’t get the original boxes and paperwork. I would reach out to @krish and @rookhawk among others for more information.

I do know you’ve got three of the five caliber options and are missing the two smaller rifles the 7x57 and 300h&h

Based on current pricing that you will find #1's going from 1250 to 2400 depending on cal, year it was produced and number of other variables. A LGS has a 450NE with a $1475 price tag on it. I consider that a very good price on that rifle.

I will send you a PM on what I think you should look at.

CB is Craig Boddington series , all were made as part of a series of 4 rifles.

Also part of consecutive serial numbers of i am not mistaken

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John buzzardhilllabs@hotmail.com
NRA benefactor, areas hunted, add congo, Mozambique3, Zambia2
Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
