Well, Wayne, like anything, it's about personal preference. I've had many rifles over the years and can say that at one time or another that I have loved each and every one. There's just something about the No 1 that holds my heart though I have strayed many times to military rifles or bolt rifles, but like a first love, I always come back to the mystique and the tried and true of the No 1. I cannot recall how many times that I pulled one from a case at hunting camp or at the range when someone wants to strike up a conversation about the sleek lines, the classic beauty of a single shot or the caliber that I happen to be shooting that day (9.3s always seem to get an interest piqued). Also, there's the reflection of you, the hunter and shooter, that is projected as someone that is confident in their shooting abilities as well as the belief in the challenge of the hunt.
My two centavos...
