This rifle is in excellent condition. No scratches on the metal and only a few light safe marks. These marks are only in the finish. I've used it to bag two Elephants. I had a local smith install a Limbsaver recoil pad. THE WOOD WAS NOT CUT. LOP is 14 inches. The factory recoil pad is included with the sale so the LOP can be returned to the factory length of approx. 13 1/2 inches. Just remove two screws to swap the pad. Comes with Ruger scope rings as well. The gun shoots great and will feed Barnes flat nose solids. See the picture from the last time I had this gun to the range. I can ship in a Ruger box, which is not the original or a hard plastic case. Shipping cost will be more with the hard case.

$2,600 for the rifle, Ruger rings and extra recoil pad. $2,900 if you want the Leupold VariX III 1.5x5x20 scope with a duplex reticle with a set of Warne QD rings. Prices are plus shipping and insurance. Cross posted on another African site as well. First, I'll take it gets the rifle. Send me a private message if you want to discuss anything about the rifle.

I'm located in southeast Pennsylvania if anyone wants to do a FTF transaction.

How many does the magazine hold down?

Three in the mag plus one in the chamber.
Respectfully tell me if I'm wrong here.

You should feed a round from magazine to chamber in order to not risk breaking the extractor.

If I'm correct when the gun is loaded it is 2 +1 in the 416 Rigby caliber.

Last, I own this gun. They are shooters for sure! Very accurate, feed smoothly and handle nicely in your hands.

Good luck with the sale!

If you think the magazine capacity in Ruger’s RSMs is a bit, ah, “stingy,” you can increase capacity with the Alaskan Arms custom extended mag floor plate.
My understanding is this will NOT work with the 416 Rigby cartridge.

The Ruger 416 Rigby RSM was designed to hold 3 rounds in the magazine with an empty chamber. I would not personally feed a 4th round in the tube and snap the extractor over the rim, too hard on the extractor IMO, risking potential damage. I have done this with my CZ 416 Rigby but not tried with a Ruger RSM, you can put the cartridge on top of the others, push it down a little while you run the bolt face up to the cartridge, let the rim slip under the extractor, then you can top it off with a 4th round.

Really nice rifle for a great price.

Considering it’s CRF you could chamber a round, remove the bolt with the round still attached, add another to the magazine and reinsert the bolt while holding the cartridges in the magazine down. Lovely rifle in the perfect caliber.

I have to give that a try! thx

It is 3 down and 1 in the chamber. I have 2 Ruger 416 Rigby's, a Ruger Magnum and the Ruger Safari Magnum. The CZ I had originally fed only from the magazine, sent the bolt back to CZ and slight alteration to the extractor and I pick up an extra round. The Ruger was designed to carry 4 rounds,1up and 3 down. It is not hard on the extractor IMO and Ruger.

I read my manual on the Ruger RSM. I stand corrected, it says 4 rounds for the 375 and 3 rounds for the 404 and 416 Rigby though I have no trouble closing the bolt effortlessly on a cartridge in the chamber with 3 down. Who reads instructions? :)

Thanks for the clarification. It has worked fine for me as you described. Now someone needs to buy this gun and go Elephant hunting.
