As far as I am aware, there was a Brown Bear with laminated and a safari in walnut stock, someone please correct if I am incorrect?

You are correct, those were the two.

I was asking as other one recently posted for sale is listed as an Elephant model.

Wrong side of the pond for me. GLWS thats a very fair price. The 500 Bolt guns truly are a thing of wonderment and feel like a wand of power once you can use them well.

Thank you! It is a fine rifle, I have argued with myself several times on selling, but sitting in the safe does it no glory.

Is yours a Brown Bear or an Elephant model?
Sako, to my understanding made two. 500's.
The Brown Bear & The Premium (significant Cost difference, 24" Barrel, etc.) The Premium XL was discontinued long before the Brown Bear, I believe.

Some members have really nice Sako's here ..

I had seen that one, what a beauty! I could not take that hunting.

Likewise, as ridiculous as it may sound. However, this Brown Bear gained a notoriety (regardless of professional opinion, downfalls or success) .. I've never seen one "For Sale", short of here on AH.

Do you have the Box to this, just out of curiosity.
Thank you.

4150.00 Shipped and insured CONUS, FFL to FFL no Pelican case or ammunition. NO California!

The Safari models started about 10K USD, and went up from there. I think the Safari Anniversary model started around 25K USD.

Thank you for the likes folks, my FFL bought it and the ammo. I was hopeful someone here would take it, it was hard to let it go, I am just getting too old to have safe queens.

Booked with Harold Grinde - Gana River - they sure kill some good ones - who'd you get set up with?

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
