I have just noticed a new SAKO has been released...the S20.
Available in a variety of calibers from 6.5CM to 300WM.
Personally, I've never owned one.
But I've heard some very good things about their previous models.
Like to know what others think.

Looks like they are priced right around $1500 USD.

Considering the hype everywhere in Finland last spring before the reveal, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this. I mean it is essentially just T3x that doesn't need immediate stock replacement for accuracy but apparently they did years of research into most repulsive looking and feeling polymers in the world for the stock material, probably to offer a carbon replacement for more $$$ later on.

impractical bolt knob and thumbhole stock immediately stands out as reasons to steer clear from the picture.
i would suggest the years of research went into how to sell something to gullible people and make it for the least possible price while selling it for max they can get for it.
oh, i forgot, they have been doing that for years already.
bruce.

Sako 42, Sako 22, Sako 85, should be the high end factory rifles, each for its own separate purpose with different designs.
I own 85, no complaints.
On lower end market, in fact, it is Tikka line of rifles, proven. I also own one.

So, as a hybrid rifle sako s20 has potential, simply by the name of brand.
Hybrid rifle as a concept?
Do I want, need, or will buy hybrid rifle? No, I will not. I dont have a need for it.

I own a Sako L61R, from the late 80´s.

They don´t make them like that anymore.

if like previous models it will be overpriced, and what you pay for will be status within the urban myth brigade.
bruce.

Great to see I have status and am part of the urban myth brigade....like my 85 black bear ...only thing I dont like is the marble for a front sight bead...hate the trend for oversized front beads on the sight...covers too much of the target....

HI all, here is a Short update on our America trip, I currently in Houston and have 2 more meetings here before movings North toward Oklahoma, Missouri and Iowa, and from there I will head to Colorado and Idaho,I have been met with great hospitality and friendship, and have met several new and old clients and we are going to book the rest of 2025 season quick and have several dates booked for 2026!
That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
