Here is the total damage from my hunt in the Eastern Cape this past April/May.

Taxidermy Bill from Karoo Taxidermy $4660:
Kudu Wall Pedestal
Impala Wall Pedestal
Gemsbock Floor Pedestal/no stand
Blesbock Euro
Blue Wildebeest Euro
Hartebeest Engraved Euro
Zebra Flatskin
Hartbeest Flatskin
Blue Wildebeest Flatskin
Impala and Kudo Backskins

Badger Cargo total Bill to include pick up from Karoo and air cargo from Johannesburg to Seattle on Turkish Airlines:
Crate was 42x34x43in 104kg/229lb/185metric

$2255

Customs and all clearing fees with Coppersmith Seattle plus one day storage fee with Turkish Airline:

$1001

Sea Cargo with DHX from Seatac to Honolulu with will call pickup:

$548

So my shipping/handling total was $3804 from Karoo Taxidermy to Honolulu, and everything including Taxidermy work came out to $8464.

I'd read some real horror stories about the airline storage fees as of late. I'd done some checking around and seemed like most those issues were happening at California airports, so that
s why I chose to pay a few bucks more and fly my crate into Seattle.

Jennifer House from Coppersmith was my clearing agent, she was very responsive to all my texts and emails and did a fantastic job of getting to my cargo quickly, clearing customs and out of Turkish Air's storage area.

The thing that sold me on using Coppersmith Seattle is thier the ability to remove the cargo immediately after it's cleared customs, and take it to their own nearby storage facility while it awaits USFW and Agricultural Clearance. So I wouldn't be paying those $195/day fees from Turkish Air, that have cost some folks $1000s of bucks.
Luckily she was able to get it totally cleared within two days, so the Federal Agencies must run much quicker in WA than in CA.

The folks at Badger Cargo were very responsive as well. I'm thinking though, they must make a pretty good profit on the air cargo if I'm reading my documents correctly. My fee to them was $2255, but on the air bill from Turkish it shows R16,324 which exchanges to around $933 bucks!

Anyway, my cargo is on the boat and I'm excited about picking up from DHX here next week. Will post picks of everything soon!
Aloha

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
