One of the pleasant surprises at this years DSC was seeing Sleeping Indian is back in business. https://www.sleepingindianusa.com/

I've never owned any of their products, but have been impressed with their quality and reviews. I might actually buy one of their wool shirts or jackets. I have a pair of Filson wool pants which should last more than my lifetime.

It's quality gear, it's pricey but good stuff. They make so much fancy camo now, I still like the traditional stuff.

.375 Ruger Fan,thanks for posting this. I'll have to look them up at the shows and try their stuff on. I'm always looking for quality wool products. I like Icebreaker Merino products because they are the soft Super wash wool that doesn't itch. It's ironic that I love wool so much when I raise South African Dorper sheep that do not produce wool at all!
Regards,
Philip

Back in January at the DSC in Dallas, it was about 10 degrees F and snowing sideways. I could have used some Sleeping Indian wool then for sure!

So had they gone out of business and now somebody else operating under that name?

King of the Mountain was born out of Sleeping Indian or was it the other way around? With all of the high tech fabrics now a days, wool just doesn't have the broad appeal it once had.

I think the founder/original owner died and the company shortly after did the same. So yes, a new group owns Sleeping Indian from what I gather.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
