I'm not familiar with the Model 69, or any of the recent models. Since it's a 5 shot, I'm guessing that it's a 44 built on a K frame?

It is actually an L-Frame, the frame that was designed and eventually replaced the K-Frame.
Butt dimensions are almost identical but but the frame is beefed up in critical areas as well as cylinder diameter which resulted in increased cylinder wall thickness. The purpose of the L-Frame was to allow higher pressure +P cartridges. Wonderful handguns!
