Steve and Shelly joined us for their 3rd safari with CVS. They started the trip at our home to recover from jetlag and catch up with our families! We had a great evening around the campfire, enjoyed some drinks and a hearty meal! The next day Steve and Shelly headed to the Umkomaas Valley with PH Clive Curtis, trackers Robert and Sipho. Steve was primarily focussed on bagging an excellent Nyala which is what this area is best known for. Steve ended up taking a spectacular 29+ in Nyala with "the" perfect shape, a fine Kudu, red hartebeest, waterbuck and other species! The kudu was spotted at midday, and they finally managed to outwit the grey ghost just at sunset, resulting in a memorable and exciting hunt. The Nyala was taken the "classic" way, after still hunting a promising valley for a number of hours. As is often the case, just when they thought about trying another valley this spectacular bull emerged out of nowhere and fell to an excellent long range shot! Sadly due to an emergency the safari had to be cut short and they only ended up spending one day in their second hunting area in Northern Zululand, where Steve was meant to hunt a hippo and other game. They will be back in the future to take care of "unfinished business"! We are grateful to all our old clients who return time and time again, the friendships formed on safari are unique and often last a lifetime!
