Well my wife and I just returned from our first trip to South Africa and it far exceded our expectations.
Our first hunt day included me shooting a nice kudu and a bushpig which I really knew nothing about until it came running down a mountain side and my PH Francois suggested we pursue him. After he ran into a dried up river bottom we were able to locate him headed back up the mountain at which time I fired a shot missing the first time but connecting on the second. This ended an incredible first day.

Great first day!! Look forward to more!

The second day started out with me harvesting a nice impala. We spent the rest of the day sightseeing and looking for warthogs. We saw a few warthogs but all were too small or sows. We did see plenty of other animals including giraffe and the black eagle.

Unbelievable! A bushpig in the daylight and you got it! That just doesn’t happen! Can’t wait to see what else you get!
Congratulations on your first Africa hunt and excellent trophies already!

Day 3 we headed off of the 22,000 acre farm to look for gemsbuck. We hiked 5 miles through the mountains with no luck but did see more kudu, impala, blue wildebeest and blonde wildebeest.

Day 6 we took the day off from hunting and headed to Addo and cheetah breeding sanctuary. We saw so many warthogs at Addo that I was going crazy as I really wanted one but they had eluded me so far.

Congratulations on a great first hunt!

This trip with Iliwa Safaris was top notch from start to finish!! This family is honest and makes the whole day very enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend them if you are looking for plains game and like to laugh. I will be talking about this trip for quite some time.

Dude I can't believe your first day in Africa and you get a bushpig and a kudu! Absolutely awesome! Great animals all round! Congratulations!

Btw have you started planning your next trip yet?

It was definitely a great first day and I want to go back but not real sure with the way the government wants to take land from the farmers.

I can understand that. Definitely a situation to follow closely. Feel like the outfitters/PHs are losing twice - with the potential to lose their farm and then lost business due to the instability of the country.
