Recently I went on my first South African safari and can I say it is a trip I will remember for a life time. I chose Kingsview Safari and I will say it was worth every penny spent. From the moment my wife and stepped off of the plane we felt very welcome. Jono met us at the airport and took us to our accomodations that would be home for the next 11 days. The part I liked about hunting with Jono is we were the only clients in camp. Jono is more concerned about creating memories for his guest than making money. Now for what you want to know. how was the hunting? Our first day started out amazing as we were able to take 2 beautiful animals. My first African trophy was a beautiful Impala followed by a Warthog later in the day.
Day 2 was more of the same. Plenty of animals. I was able to get a zebra and a red heartebeest.
After a great nights sleep we headed off to Nyala Ridge where we would not be disappointed. On the first day my PH, Wayne, spotted this Nyala sleeping under a tree. After painfully instructing where I could see the animal I was able to spot him.
Now it was time to chase the Grey Ghost and a chase it was. We saw several from a distance, but was unable to get close enough for a shot. After passing on one I though would look good in my home my PH spotted the one we wanted. Wayne would not allow a shot on an animal that he would not hang in his own home. After painfully explaining to me where to spot the animal I was able to make a frontal shot at 245 yards. Wow what a hunt that was.
Now it was time to go after my Springbok and blue wildebeest.
We then went back to Yellowwoods where I saw a carcal duck into the brush. Being very flexible Jono made a call and an hour later we were chasing a carcal with dogs. If you want a real hunt ask Jono to let you chase after dogs on the trail of a carcal.
I can say I am a guy who is very tight with his money, but it was worth every penny spent. I went in very skeptical, and came out with an experience of a life time and some new friends. Thank you Jono, Justine and Wayne. You truly are a first class operation and should anyone have any questions do not hesitate to contact me. I was so impressed I have already scheduled a return safari with Jono. What was even more special was the fact that they allowed my beautiful wife to be with me every step of the hunt.
