SOUTH AFRICA: Kwalata Wilderness

This was my wife and I's first trip to Africa and we knew that Jaco and Reinhard at Kwalata were the team to show us the way. One of the factors that was so unique about Kwalata was the large hunting area in the Waterberg Mountains. The mountains did not disappoint as we hiked them nearly every day looking for prospective animals. The staff, the trackers, the PH's, the accommodations, were all top notch.

I am not going to write a novel about this hunt but I can tell you that if you want a "real hunt"....Kwalata is the place to be.

Also...side note.... Elephants are better mountain climbers then humans. Fun Fact

There is nothing quite like seeing Elephants in the hills and watching them cover the ground effortlessly.

I gotta ask ....did you take him with a bow or rifle?
Either way he's a great trophy but after hunting them they seem almost impossible to get with a bow to me.

I took him with a rifle from 85 yards at an extreme uphill angle. He gave me about 5 seconds to steady the crosshairs... This animal was high on my list

Glad to hear you had a great hunt. The hunting at Kwalata is second to none! I have been twice and both times had awesome safaris. That is a very nice kilpspringer and a really cool hyena.
