Just returned from a hunt with Trevor Lake, Lake Safaris, Zulu Natal, South Africa. When I set up this hunt with Trevor I told him I had two goals in mind. First and foremost I wanted my son who would accompany me for his first Africa hunt to have a good time and second that I wanted to put in the extra effort to look for a great nyala. He came through on both accounts beyond my expectations. We must have seen 50 nyala bulls before taking the animals of our choice. Never did Trevor make me feel like he was pushing me to take one I didn’t want. This was a true free range hunt that provided the experiences that are the makings of memories that we will cherish in the years to come. Trevor provides all you can ask of a PH in terms of providing a great place to hunt, putting you in front of quality animals, good accommodations, and great food. The existence of this special place is fragile due to the ever increasing pressures on wildlife areas in South Africa due to the Governments Land Reform ideas which no doubt are not helping the wildlife among other things. I recommend your making this trip now versus later as it one you don’t want to miss out on.

Would love to see pics!

Trevor has the rep for great nyala. No doubt.

Sounds great, but need pics!

Glad you had a good trip. Drag and drop those photos into your next post.

Haven't seen anything of James.Grage for a while. Anyone have contact with him?

On FB I have seen the occasional post. He was last around AH July 11.

Oh OK. I haven't seen anything since long before that even so missed his last post I guess. Just sort of dropped off. I thought with these recent threads about Lake, he might chime in.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
