My wonderful wife booked me a hunt in Spain as a surprise gift. The hunt is for stag with the option of ibex , roe , or mouflon. Bear in mind that I already have Africa booked for 2014. Here's the kicker...we just found out that we will be adding our third child in the summer. Just to much for one year.
What to do ?
Sell the hunt and make someone a great deal on a hunt...
Try to move it back a year...knowing that this will also move my tentative buff hunt back also...
Trade the hunt for a double in either 450NE or 470NE. Assuming someone will trade...(I like the sound of this one)
What would you do ?

the first thing I would do is get a vascectomy , ha ha ha ha
congratulations on your third dirt magnet ,d.f.a
spain would be great visit and hunt , so is Africa
and kids are even better fun .
no matter what hunt you choose to lose ,mate its gunna suck ....

( Just dreaming here BUT) What time of year is this hunt scheduled for?

You got a dilemma for sure. The problem with the hunts in Spain, is all the taxes and fees, besides the daily rate and trophy fees. Those hunts look good initially but the costs add up quickly! I would sell one of your hunts, to alleviate some headaches and problems.

Ouch! It's all in the timing.

hmmmmm.....
:thinking::thinking::thinking:

After long consideration... Sell the kid. ;)

It will be cheaper in the long run.

I think the Buffalo will win.

First of all, congratulations on the new addition!! Secondly, the buffalo hunt is only second to the bun in the oven. If you've never done a cape buffalo hunt you MUST do it. It will only make you a better father and person. I'm sure your wonderful wife will understand.

Good luck and again, congratulations to you both!!

To be honest the Cape buffalo hunt would go, if I had to choose, and that is based on the outfitter running the hunt.

Enysse, sorry to be a wanker, but are you saying you would go on the buff hunt or let the buff hunt go?

No offense taken, I'd let the Cape buffalo hunt go (be sold).

Good idea , Brick. If I sell the kid I will bet my wife would be OK with me moving to Africa. Hey, maybe I could be a PH...

enysse,
The 2014 hunt is the one you are referring to. It is a plains game hunt with the outfitter you speak of. This hunt , I am definitely going on in July. The buffalo hunt is still in the planning stage , but for 2016. I haven't chosen a country or outfitter for the buff hunt. If I were to push Spain til 2015 , then my buff hunt would have to go to 2017. I'm thinking that I will try and sell (or preferably trade for a double) the Spain hunt. That would make a 2016 buff hunt very possible. Sorry for the confusion , friend.
Jane,
Thanks for the congrats. My wife and I are very excited.

Ok, my confusion I guess.

Best of luck, I hope things work out.

The ibex's of Spain are beautiful and so is the country. It was on my bucket list I took it off though.

Always remember this...where there is smoke there is fire...in my life experiences...it's close to 99% true.

enysse,
I could/should have explained better in my OP. No worries my friend. Thank you for an honest opinion. I believe all will be well , and I look forward to writing my report.
Cheers, friend.:thumb:

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
