Squirrel hunting during my holiday

Awesome.....I love hunting squirrels, shoot a pile of them every year.

Native to the region?Eat them? How'd they taste?

2 PH's thought I was crazy for wanting to shoot a ground squirrel in Africa for my collection. Still need to find one that'll take the time for me to find a good specimen, so far I get strange looks and scoffed at.

There are tonnes of them there - they are a huge pest problem especially to the coconut farmers.

They have an interesting taste - almost but not quite chicken (I know - cliche' hehee), together with a distinct musky flavour in the meat. Not bad at all!

I was very lucky - I found a great PH who is eager and willing to take me small game hunting next year So happy and grateful

They grow them big in Delcambre! What do you use for a pot? Or a spit over an open fire?

These guys are a HUGE pest for out maize farmers here. They destroy the crops like you can't believe!
