Hello All- I have recently acquired a Davenport M98 500 Jeffery and wow is what comes to mind when it comes out of the safe and go shoot it. I won't bore you with a bunch of hum drum but hoping to find someone on here that knows how to reach Mr Davenport or his son. The phone number I can find online for him just rings endlessly with no VM. The reason I need to reach him is as follows....maybe someone on here as a similar gun; The magazine conversion on this rig has formed sheet metal lips inside the mag well that convert it to a center feed (which works incredibly well and there is plenty of mag well internal length, true genius at work). However, the coffin type bottom metal will not open, assuming by design to accommodate the internal sheet metal center feed "clips". Before I try and take it down (I would like to travel with it in a short case) If there are any "tricks" to accomplish this I feel better to wait and talk to someone before I try doing it. The inletting is flawless and I feel like the entire bottom metal has to somehow come straight out with the mag box attached.
Thanks-Any and all help is appreciated-
