Not hunting related. I know a lot of you travel the world. I am wondering if anyone has any recent experience traveling to this country. With Bukele cleaning things up, I’ve read good things. Anyone?

I haven’t been to El Salvador since 2019… and I was only in San Salvador for a few days.. so my recent experience is limited..

The airport leaves a lot to be desired.. but several Central American airports do.. so not a big deal (to me at least)…

Lots of eco tourism type opportunities in the country… but crime rates are very high throughout the country both in the city and rural areas… but supposedly this is getting much better recently.. I’d just recommend staying alert and aware of surroundings… and probably wouldn’t go wandering around unfamiliar areas after dark, etc…

We stayed at the Intercontinental in San Salvador.. the hotel is a little dated.. but clean, well maintained, and the restaurant in the hotel was very good…

Outside of the hospitality industry you’re not going to find many English speakers… brush up on your Spanish before going…

We had a small contract with the US Embassy until 2020 there .. I think we had 4 people working for us that were supporting international policing and some court reform initiatives.. 1 was a US expat.. the rest were local nationals with national police backgrounds… I’d be happy to check and see if we (my company) still has contact with any of those guys and could connect them to you if interested (never hurts to have a retired senior federal police officer that works inside the US Embassy on speed dial when you are traveling in developing countries.. :) )..

Hope this helps…

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
