Dear Jeff
I would really like to take this opportunity to have our side heard as well. The warthog that you mentioned was four tusks, which according to our packing lists, was included in your consignment. Because it is only tusks it is wrapped in bubble wrap in a bundle which can easily be thrown away, as it is packed on top of the plastic tubing to separate it from the other species, with the other packaging material. We have sent you a copy of you insurance certificate so for you to claim that we collected funds without taking out the insurance is not true. I will not in any circumstances make myself guilty of this unethical (and downright dishonest / illegal) practice. Because of the nature of the claim not being damage (for lack of a better word), but missing tusks, the claim is in this instance a bit more complicated than normally (where pictures are supplied and then claims are processed) due to the lack of proof that the tusks were indeed lost. Regardless, we accepted your word for it and in order to speed up the process we decided to re-imburse you from our own pocket for the full amount that the warthog was insured for plus a little extra to cover any bank charges. We will now attempt to recover this amount from the insurance company. I do believe in doing things the right way and hope that you will indeed visit us at our new premises right next to OR Tambo Airport on your next visit to South Africa. Keep well and have a nice day. Koos.
P.S. The sweet lady you spoke to was Charlene my wife and all our details are in our signature below.
