TSA approved case for double rifle - Why am I having trouble finding?

i am looking for a travel case that will house my 450 double rifle, and if possible my 9.3x74r double rifle as well. i prefer it to be a “take down” case. any ideas fellow double rifle lovers?

You can make your own "take down" case with Pelican V700 (2" shorter) or Protector 1700. It is wide enough to put two take down rifles. Here is a pic by @One Day... of his 1700

Or try to find an Americase from somewhere. I bought mine from Ebay lightly used and it is designed for two break down shotguns/double rifles.

I would stay away from Negrini, they are flimsy.

Another way to go is My Case Builder. I was considering this route before I switched to Blaser. It's a good option and they will work with you to build a case, or you can do it on your own. I know @Ed Lally has a custom Pelican Air case that is a couple of layers and really nice size. Best of all it doesn't look like a rifle case.

I would have said Americase but I understand they are no longer making rifle cases. You could contact them to see if they have any remaining.

Beg-borrow-steal for an Americase Full length rolling safari case. Either the 2 gun or the 3 gun. Best safari case ever made, now discontinued.

The 2 gun case filled comes in just under coach limit of 50lbs. The 3 gun case filled comes in just under the biz/first class limit of 70lbs.

MSRP was around $350 on these when new.

There are many options. I find it best to just use a standard Pelican 2 gun case as you are allowed 50 pounds per bag.

First pic is my sons rifle. This case is pretty nice for the price. Very adjustable for any weapon. I bought it for my son for xmas for his new ar15, he has traveled 2 trips with it this year. Other than a few scratches, been a tough case.

I’ve had really good luck with the Pelican V700 36.5” as well. Protects well, easy to get through the airport and on the truck once you get there, attracts less unwanted attention, stays under the weight limit with two rifles.
