I hope none of the AH members are flying to Africa or anywhere else today on United Airlines. UA issued a nationwide ground stop due to equipment issues and shortages after the Labor Day holiday weekend. Yikes!

I read where it has been lifted and they are taking off again

Just saw a news report and supposedly United was having technical issues and requested the FAA issue the ground halt. They did and 30 minutes or so later, the problem was resolved and the ground stop ended. United stock took a 3% hit.

FAA cancels full ground stop for United Airlines less than 1 hour after planes halted

United reportedly told the FAA that they were having equipment problems, although it's unclear what systems were affected.

I am so glad I am not traveling extensively by air in business anymore. Years ago flying was enjoyable, pre-9.11 and there were nice perks for the frequent flyer. Not the case anymore.
