Great rifle & caliber, I had one of these & one in .270Win super light & accurate .

I had the 185gr TSX going at crazy speeds, more than my 300Win mag !!

Good luck with the sale .

Also should have a magnesium receiver and SS bbl. w/ recessed target crown. A Very light gun. 'Have the very same (not for sale) and it's served very well as a combo deer/black bear gun. Super accurate. 'Currently also using a very similar load (2950 fps using the 185 TTSXs.) Use the 225-250+ gr better expanding bullets in Africa!!! Sold mine to a friend for $1K 10 yrs ago and later bought it back for $1.5K. This is a superb, all-weather, full-sized mtn rifle for anything in America. I believe they weigh 5.75 lbs completely absent of bases/rings/scope/sling/ammo. 'Shot 0.75 in groups with factory Wby/Norma 210 NPs, and Mickey Mouse groups using (+200 fps) handloads. Squeezed 2440 fps out of old Barnes Original 300 gr SPs for use on big stuff. Underrated and Highly recommended! Art Alphin (of 338-06 A-Sq fame) knew his stuff. Good luck. Should sell quickly. Many are fond of reaming it out to 338-06 Ackley Improved (+150 fps, a very simple operation) but it's not entirely necessary. 'Just had mine out for deer this past week (as it rained quite a bit,) but passed up many young bucks, friends got 2 of 4 big boys, and I took out a muzzleloader to take a doe at >200 yds, to bolster the dwindling Landjaeger stock...

Put it on some of the AI forums and someone will foam of the mouth (at its virgin chamber) and scarf it up. lol

*For anyone that purchases it, use the Wby factory COAL for handloads (not std 3.440" COAL, Wby-the guns have longer throats for such performance-why you can get 2440 fps/300 gr bullets!) If i recall correctly, it's 3.625" but you can double-check for yourself. Measuring Wby factory ammo saved me a lot of time in reloading for this particular gun. (It may be 3.3625" so pls double-check the Wby/Norma ammo!)

Hi I recently purchased one myself and am getting ready to load up. Any chance you have that coal length on factory weatherby ammo? Thanks

yes. i will have to double-check...i was going to seat the bullets out as far as possible, but the factory Wby/Norma ammo shot so well i decided to duplicate it...Factory std. COAL (same as the 06) is 3.440". They seem to shoot best at 3.362" (Wby was 3.3625"). All that said, factory Wby guns tend to have long throats. Of course, you're limited by the mag well size. The COAL i provided (as Wby knows) made for no feeding issues with any type bullets! It's not a super long-range rig, so squeezing the last bit of accuracy out of the bullet seating depth is unnecessary. Most ammo shoots 0.75" groups @ 100. Essentially 0.5 w/ 2 shots and then walking out another 0.25 on the third. It's quite accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I like to use the 185 TTSXs for deer/bear combo at home, but for elk 210s and anything larger (including African PG,) I'd recommend the 250s.
