Cull hunt or meat hunt?
Wonder what the circumstance was for this??

Meat? I somehow doubt it...
Look how some of the tusks (all the bigger ones) are marked with a red line/tape.

Is that for real :eyecrazy:

Interesting rifle....seem to be an O/U

I'm betting he's European....probably from Spain or Portugal. They seem to love shooting the hell out of Warthogs for some reason.

i am wondering if it wasnt a group of hunters who shot them over 2 or 3 days, and he just happened to want his photo taken sitting on them? we have shot that many boar on driven hunts when there have been 12+ of us and it has been a good area......

We do love shooting warthogs, but that s too much, even for us !

Yikes, a lot of good warthogs in that pile!

It looks awful but I'd like to know the story behind the picture before passing judgement.

If I loved Warthog, and had a PH tell me $100.00 a head,,,,I have $7500.00 in my pocket....:letsparty: That seems like a great ,sorry, (GREAT) hunt to me.

That pile of warthogs...IS WAY TO VAIN FOR ME! I have no problems with someone shooting 5 and could maybe see 10 if you were hunting many properties but that is TOO MUCH. That isn't hunting...that's killing.

Something that the Spanish market is famous for, not my cup of tea either and while it could seem fun it is most definitely NOT SUSTAINABLE, and for that particular reason I can not agree with it.

Sad indeed, greedy as well.

My very best always.

I agree 100 percent!

now this is something totally different and acceptable!

Different pose for sure.
Most of us know this is a culling operation for meat.
Without that knowledge it could appear to be the same excess. (sadly)

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
