I just got back into archery after many years and never used a release. I finally settled on a Winn Free Flight C-10. It advertises a 15% reduction in felt draw weight, which I was sceptical about. Well, I tried it and I cranked up the bow closer to its 70lb draw weight, which now I have no problem drawing. So it really works and I am already grouping better. Much more confidence now, since I shot a broadhead into the tree directly in front of me while relaxing my draw with my original release!

I have used quite a few and I ended up with the Scott Wild Cat. It is a single caliper with forward trigger. The left side of the caliber is solid (holds string truer) and the right side releases. Glad to see that you really like your new bow. What arrows are you using?

I am mainly an archery hunter, but for my first African trip this July I will be rifle hunting. I have used both Scott and T.R.U. Fire releases for some time now and have had no problems. I use the ones with the wrist strap personnaly, but I have never tried the ones without like the T-Handle. I see a lot of pro hunters use them, but like everything else its personal preference.

I am using Gold Tip "Expeditions" 5575. Magnus Stinger Buzzcut broadheads (100gr.)
Here is a pic of the release, kind of a hybrid t-handle with wrist strap.

I seem to be grouping nice, now I just want to bring the sights in perfectly. The bow must shoot fairly flat, unless all bows shoot from 10 to 20 yards with the same pin. I may just use two pins instead of three or set the pins for 15, 30 and 45 instead of 10, 20and 30.

I love my TRU Ball Tornado. I've tried several and just can't get away from the Tru Ball.

Another vote for the Scott Wild Cat release. Used to use a Winn several years ago, but changed to a caliper style when I started shooting a string loop.

I have been using the Scott archery little goose for several years. I like a release with adjustable length. Normal ones are always to long for me.

I set my pin dead on at 20. It is a little high at 10 yards. This allows for 20,30 & 40 yard arraingment.

I am thinking of a one pin set-upalso. Set for 20 yards should be all I need.

I am using a string loop with the Winn, but I can see where using it directly on the string would be better.

Keep in mind the string loop eliminates the possibility of string torque. This is not an issue if your release will rotate easily to accomidate your anchoe point.

Depending on your arrow flight 1 pin might work great. I set my pin 1 1/2" high at 10 yds., dead on at 20 yds. I can hold my pin at the top of a deer shoulder blade at 30 yards and it will drop right in.

You talked me into it. 1 pin it is! I am easily confused, so it will narrow my pin choices down!

Have a look at SCOTT and you will not buy another release.

When it comes to hunting bow sights the Trophy Ridge Vertical Pins Sight works great for me...

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
