What rifle gives you 'The Fizz'?

Hey guys,

What rifle do you own that gives you 'The Fizz'?
By The Fizz I mean makes you feel just awesome holding and using it...

And it doesn't have to be fancy or expensive it just has to be 'just right' in your eyes...

For example, the rifle that gives me 'The Fizz' is my Zastava M70 in .458 Winchester Magnum.
It's fitted with a Hogue stock (with the full aluminium bedding block) and a Leupold 1.5-4 scope in Warne bases and rings.
It's really accurate, feeds and ejects perfect straight out the box, it's reliable and at 9lb, not too heavy.
The Hogue stock is stiff and grippy in all weather conditions and as a bonus, It also soaks up recoil really well.
This rifle fits me perfectly and it's in my favourite caliber, the .458
I'm feeding it a handload with the 550gn Woodleigh at just under 2100fps - and I would feel supremely confident with this rifle and load against any animal anywhere in the world.

It certainly gives me 'The Fizz'!

As Austrailia is the smallest continent of the 7, perhaps translating succinctly "The Fizz," is in order? When i read fizz i think a soda or beer opening (which typically does get people excited, but??) What fizzes? All of my guns fizz my fizzle, or I wouldn't have purchased them in the 1st place! Olivia Newton-John used to give us the Fizz, i think? Foaming of the mouth?? Crikies! G'day.

For me its my Remington in 35 Whelen, Great looking Wood and very AccurateI bought it used from Cabela,s Bargain Basement and it was a kind of a Clunker the stock was banged up but the metal was in really nice shape. Minnesota winters last about 8 months so I thought it would make a nice winter project.After working the with the wood I wound up with a great looking rifle and after some load development an excellent shooter

My Mannlicher Schoenauer model 1905 in 9x56MS as soon as I picked it up off the rack I knew it was “The one”. All 3 of these give me the fizz but the one in the middle is it. It points where I look and the sights are aligned as soon as it hits my shoulder.

But of all the firearms that I have owned, I still marvel (now that is a good word) the most at my William Evans 12 Bore Paradox. Have never owned anything else more amazing to shoot.

My Winchester Model '73, second series, .44-40, made in the early 1880's. I recently came across the 400 rounds I loaded about 17 years ago using new Starline brass, 200gr. lead boolits and syn. black powder. 135+ years of history, shoots and functions great.

I like handling the Ruger No.1 rifles, but I do feel some "fizz" with my first year .375 Ruger that I put in a graphite stock with mercury recoil reducer and thick Kickeeze pad. About to mount a Trijicon Accupoint 1-6 scope in Alaska Arms QR mounts.

In a previous thread I mentioned my 1951 Winchester M70 .300H&H.
As old as my wife & I, really nice in the hands and for the eyes.

Absolutely beautiful piece . There are many William Evans shotguns and Paradox guns still lying around in Bangladesh ( fortunately in good condition ) . When I acquired my first arms license in 1972 ( for a 12 bore ) , I had the option to purchase a beautiful William Evans box-lock ejector for only 1000 Bangladesh Taka ( equivalent to less than 10 American dollars ) . Unfortunately , it had 2 1/2 inch chambers and was only proofed for 32 grams of shot . Is yours ( by any chance ) proofed for 36 gram shotgun shells ? I have never seen a vintage William Evans shotgun ( or Paradox gun ) which was proofed for 36 gram loads .

It is indeed a 2.5 inch gun proofed for 1 1/8 ounces of shot and the 740 gr Paradox bullet which is accurate to 120 yards or so over open sights. I have never needed a heavier load. I only use 1 1/4 ounce loads for waterfowl and this would not be the gun for that.

I have a Harry Lawson thumbhole built for a Mauser 98. It has been on a few rifles and feels amazing. I am thinking about building some kind of 7x57, or 25-06 on that stock.

The synthetic version of this is stock is made by McMillan and called a Lazzeroni thumbhole. Some day I'll get around to building a pair of rifles on those stocks.

About 20 years ago I owned a 700 with a stock made by Bell and Carlson in 7x57 that had that stock on it. Was incredible. Overseas military moves forced the sale.

Eventually I'll right that wrong.
