I go for the gold cross
not with all the gizmos on it
just a single blade
16 bucks ,at the local gearstore
sharp as a razor in seconds
l use it for everything from cutting fruit to net mending and caping and gutting deer, l think its called a bunting knife .or fruitiers knife
Leatherman for me, that tool has saved me more times than i can count in a jam. The fact that the Army issues/uses them over the traditional Swiss Army Knife kinda says it all.
When I go hunting I have the Victorinox Hunter on my belt. Good lockable blade and a gut hook which is a great tool. I have gutted and field dressed many deer with it.
At work I carry the Leatherman wave.
Put me down for the Leatherman. I've got one now that has to be at least 15 years old. It's been opened/close so many time it just about flips open on it's own. Somehow this thing refuses to get lost. I left it on the fender of a horse trailer as we we loading up for a week long elk hunt. Got 30 miles or so down the road and had to stop for some reason. Found it sitting right where I left it. At the moment it's floating around the house somewhere as my kids are always using it and of course not returning it. But it'll show up again.
That's tempting to do, but it's kind of like scars on your gunstock, lots of memories around the silly thing. I've used it at work, camping, hunting, fishing and in the horse barn. So I sort of almost hate to make it new again.
Saw a good looking knife you posted a pic of with the watermelon. Can I ask the make? Looks like you hunted with Guav Johnson? We overlapped in the Save once. Would like to hunt with him one day..
