Up for sale is a beautiful rifle, A pre 64 chambered in 30-06.
I got this gun from the original owner that bought it new when he was 16 years old, his words were that it probably hasn’t had a entire box of shells through it since Ive owned it. He also told me out of that box of Ammo he killed a elk with it back in the 70s.

It couldn't get much less of a round count, as you can see in one of the pictures, the bluing has not even begun to wear off the feed ramp, the signs of wear appear to be from carrying it as the stock shows slight discoloration and bluing wear can be seen in the pictures on the floor plate. The bore is in excellent shape.
The gun is in 100% original condition, and a beautiful example of a Winchester made in 1963.

Id like to get $1,125 for it.
the gun is located in Tucson Az but I will be attending the SCI convention in Nashville and I’m already taking a gun case so if it works for you I’m happy to bring it then to avoid shipping/ffl fees.
if you are not going to be there and want the gun add $50 for shipping.
hope that makes sense and sounds reasonable…
please reach out if you have any questions or would like additional pics.

thanks

That's a great looking Pre

One of my 30-06s is a 1952 Model 70 Westerner I inherited from an uncle. 24” barrel and still shoots great as in under 5/8” groups with my handloads. A bit rough due to my old uncle horse packed into the Wimenuche in southern Colorado with a group of buds. I think they mostly got drunk and played poker though.
I have taken antelope, deer and elk with it. Still works great! It will go to my nephew now.

Well that didn’t take long, Congratulations

In all fairness, you need to post these at a reasonable hour for us EST folks before we go to bed! Seriously, great deal and congratulations on a steal.

Excellent pick-up .... I had an I'll take it typed last night minutes after this was posted and convinced myself I don't need another post war 30-06 in the safe.

Great buy @ActionBob

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

Hello. If you haven't already sold this rifle then I will purchase. Please advise. Thank you.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
