This gun has been some fun and it is ready to hunt with an original K4 Weaver scope. I went to a local range last night to see what it would do with some 180 gr Swift A Frames. They grouped at 75 yards fairly well but these were the only shots I took.

@alexaib recently gifted me North America’s Perfect Shot and one of the first things I noticed was Craig’s gun in this photo. I do not have any plans to hunt with this gun but this gun is asking for someone from AH to hunt with it…Weaver, A Frames, Craig Boddington, I mean come on.

Well I have a model 88 chambered in .308 that is used condition but no problem hunting. There is a small dent in the bell of the weaver and some pitting towards the end of the barrel. Those seem to be the only issues but didn’t effect accuracy at all. I have added photos but please reach out if you are needing any more.

I am asking $1400 OBO. Can ship or meet anywhere in Texas.

Very nice rifle. A friend of mine just offered me a similar aged 88 in 308 for a very good price. Had no idea they were bringing this kind of $$$.

It's a sad one to let go of but I have trips to pay for and they are only going up.

Lowering to $1200. Also open to trades if anyone has any Sako or AR they are looking to swap

IDT pre-'64 means anything excepting M70s. Aside from that, neat gun. Many old-timer fans. Good luck! Post-63 musclecars/engines are betterer! ;)

Incorrect-

Hand cut checkering and better blueing just to start…
You should say you stand corrected!

Have you seen the pressed checkering done on the post 64 model 88’s? It’s very ugly

I wouldn’t be as polite if this was my listing and someone came and shouted incorrect information.

GLWS to op

Agreed on the checkering, but that's never a primary consideration for me in purchasing a factory rifle. There's much more than nicer checkering on the pre 64 m70s. Do I feel as bad as Biden for saying so?? No, no I don't. Lol

@C.W. Richter Muscle cars and dual quads, boy does that bring back memories.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
